Logitech camera not working well

Hello. I have a Logitech webcam that I can open using the "mplayer tv://" command. On the other hand, I can't use it with any other programs, such as xawtv, ekiga or camorama. xawtv dies with a segmentation fault, for example.
My opencv programs don't work either (they are known to work in other machines). Any ideas?

I am also able to capture pictures using the "v4lctl snap" command...

Hi ++nicolau,
I've recently installed Logitech webcam on my amd64 laptop, so I could use ekiga and camorama. I've followed the instructions at http://www.debianadmin.com/how-to-configure-webcam-in-debian-linux.html as a result ekiga and camorama worked nicely.
